My Review

I got the 16gtb tablet cause previously; I owned an older Kindle that only had 4 GB, which was not enough for me.  I’ve yet to fill up my 16gb Kindle.

The significant factor for me was the price. I saw a sale on Amazon, The Kindle was on sale for $50.oo, so I snagged it.  Even offered to get ones for my children.  They usually cost around $79.99.

I use my tablet/reader mainly to read.  I use it most evenings to read before calling it a night.  That can range between 30 minutes to 90 minutes.  So a charge can usually last me a little over a week.  I’ve never used it for 10 hours at one time, so I can’t say if it’s battery life is 10 hours, like they claim.  I would take a guess and say it’s pretty darn close, if not more.

I love the screen. I am happy with the 8″ HD display.  I also surf the web, shop, watch a few videos, movies & tv shows.  I play a couple of games on it, but I do prefer using my smartphone for most of the games I play.

The outer case is of hard plastic, which I don’t mind.  One would think that would make this product light.  It is slightly heavier than my previous Kindle.  I noticed it at first, but it is no longer an issue for me.

The Alexa is neat to have.  Alexa does answer most of your questions.  She has access to the entire Amazon store. I don’t use Alexa much, but when I did, it worked fine.  I had a little fun with it.  😀

I bought this device with ads.  But later paid the fee of $15.00 to have the ads removed

Pros

  • Plenty of books, movies and tv shows in which to choose from
  • Easy to use and navigate
  • I can adjust the brightness
  • I can change the font and its size.
  • Responsive touchscreen
  • Set up was fairly simple
  • Wide variety of books, in every genre.

Cons

  • Unable to download from the Google Playstore.
  • I find it challenging to use this tablet with any of my university courses.
  • Sound quality is a bit  under par

My Final Thoughts

As I stated above, I use this product mainly for reading.  I do a bit of shopping on it.  On occasion, I have surfed the web.  I have played a few games.

I can’t say much about the music, because I don’t use it.  The sound quality when watching movies, tv shows, etc. are good.  It sounds a little tinny to me, but that is ok with me.  But like I said, I use it for most of my reading.

Recommend and Rating?

Would I recommend this?  Sure.  You can’t beat the price, even at $79,99.
